Win a Hand Picked Hotels overnight break for two & dinner

Rhinefield House Hotel, Handpicked Hotels

I’ve been an enthusiast of Hand Picked Hotels ever since I visited Chilston Park in Kent earlier this year.

I slept like a baby – not only because I learned how to still my whirring mind (I was there for my first ever meditation retreat) but because the rooms were cleverly furnished and designed to induce good sleep.

Think blackout curtains, luxurious linens, impossibly comfortable beds and my personal favourite, an adorable Larry the Lamb cuddly toy, which doubles up as a ‘Do Not Disturb’ symbol if you fancy catching up on some extra zzzs (read my review of Chilston Park Hotel here).

So, I’m naturally over the moon that this independent country house hotel group is offering one lucky Relax Ya Self To Health reader the chance to experience an overnight break for two at one of its plush UK dwellings.

In support of The Sleep Council’s #Sleeptember campaign, which promotes the benefits of a good night’s kip, Hand Picked Hotels has put together a Sleeptember package, which comprises:

Hand Picked Hotels prize: ‘Sleeptember’ overnight stay for two

– An overnight stay for two people sharing a classic room
– A mini lavender This Works® pillow spray and top sleep tips card
– A three-course evening meal in the restaurant
– A hearty breakfast
– A late noon check-out for some extra snooze time

The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in was in France at the Vichy Spa Hotel, it was like sleeping on a cloud, very thick mattress topper and gorgeous crisp white bed linen – bliss! I now wish I stripped the bed, and taken note of the name of the mattress and bought one myself!

I snuggled in my cosy camping bed listening to the waves and saw the sunshine on the sea as soon as I woke up! So peaceful and all the fresh sea air was amazing. We’d put a memory foam layer over the air bed and took our big duvet from home so the bed was really comfortable!

I am a rubbish sleeper but a recent holiday by the sea worked wonders. Away from day to day worries and the gentle sloshing of waves gently rocked me into blissful sleep. I am now back to my usual insomniac ways!

Definitely in my own bed! We bought our current house because of the loft conversion and how awesome it would be as a bedroom. It’s light and spacious and it is my favourite room in the house! We made sure to splash out on a bigger bed, decent mattress and White Company bed linen and it is now my absolute dream place to go to sleep.

The best place I’ve ever slept was in a treehouse in the Laos jungle. Even sharing my bed with a few creepy crawlies didn’t prevent me from having the best slumber ever. If I could sleep there every night, I’d be a very happy bunny indeed.

It’s warm, cosy, dark, smells like babies and freshly washed laundry, and I’m completely hidden away! Don’t worry, my husband was with the kids whilst I snuggled down!
